MEM Student Advisory Board
President
The MEM SAB was formed 3 years ago to promote student/faculty relations, to provide students with resources and to gather feedback about the department. I have taken on the role of president for my senior year and I am also the MEM Student Department Head. We find that in order for one to fully benefit from a college education, it is important to be involved. Through this unique position I have learned the processes needed to keep the department running. Also, I have learned vital networking skills with faculty and students that will provide future opportunities.
Drexel ASME
Secretary
This is my second year as acting secretary for the Drexel chapter of ASME. The secretary position gives me the opportunity to learn how to plan events and to develop communication skills. As a chapter, we have been actively providing many events for students throughout the year. Last year we hosted a Young Engineer’s Forum in conjunction with ASME national. Because of the great response that we received, ASME has asked us to host another. We have also gone on many factory tours so students get the opportunity to see practical application of classroom learning and hopefully get a better understanding of the different fields Mechanical Engineers can pursue.
