Jillian Toussaint is a junior in MEM who hails from Palmerton, PA. She chose Drexel and the College of Engineering because of its great reputation and for the experiences she would gain through the Co-op program. The Hess undergraduate research program is her favorite part of academics at Drexel; her advisor, Dr. Tiffany Miller, and other faculty and students involved in the program have influenced her decision to consider doctoral studies.
Her first Co-op was with Air Products where she spent her spring/summer session at corporate headquarters in the Generated Gases group. She worked on safety valve specifications, but the most exciting part of the co-op was the work she did with the Future Energy group. The group was responsible for hydrogen fuel cell technology, and Toussaint spent a week installing a fueling station for their H2-powered car. Jillian hopes her next Co-op will be spent at a hydrogen generation plant in San Diego.
After she graduates, Toussaint is planning to travel to Europe for a few months, and then attend graduate school. Jillian is the captain of Drexel's tennis team and she loves anything related to the outdoors. Her favorite activity is snowboarding, and she previously competed at the national level in high school. She also enjoys cooking, music, and being with friends.
