Dear Prospective Graduate Student,
I would like to introduce you to Drexel University's Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics Graduate Program. At Drexel University, we strive to provide innovative curriculum to reflect evolving technologies, develop competitive externally funded research programs, promote activities of highest scholarly value, and create an inviting community of students and faculty.
There are many exciting, multi-disciplinary research opportunities for students to explore. The most active areas of departmental research include biofluidics, medical robotics, biomechanics, heat transfer, combustion, active materials, composites, system dynamics and control and manufacturing processes. Our professors at Drexel are internationally-renowned in their field and have been recognized for major contributions to mechanical engineering research and education. The Princeton Review® has recently ranked our department's graduate program as one of the "Best Engineering Programs" in the country.
Upon completing the program, our graduate students go forward into esteemed positions in academia, industry, national labs and post-doctoral appointments. In the past year, 5 of our Ph.D. graduates received faculty positions at the University of Oklahoma, College of New Jersey, University of Arkansas, Middle East Technical University, and King Mongkut University.
I invite you to explore our website at www.mem.drexel.edu to learn more about the Drexel Experience. If you would like to schedule a visit or request more information about the program, please call 215.895.1482, or email our Program Coordinator, Colleen Rzucidlo, at crzucidlo@coe.drexel.edu.
Sincerely,
Dr. Alan Lau
