Pi Tau Sigma Students Attend 2008 International ME Honors Society Convention

MEM undergraduate students Paul Briede, Ryan Cooper, Ali Sajwani and Michael Cecchini traveled to the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta, GA to take part in the 2008 International Mechanical Engineering Honors Society Convention from February 15-17.

Accompanied by their advisor, Dr. Franco Capaldi (MEM Assistant Professor, Xi Chapter Advisor, PTS Eastern Vice President) as well as Dr. Bill Danley (Past PTS Eastern Vice President), the conference allowed the students to learn about the organization and develop ideas for how to build Drexel’s chapter. “I personally met students from all across the United States ranging from Purdue, Florida State, the Naval Academy and many other prestigious universities. We also had networking opportunities with employers such as Schlumberger, ExxonMobil and Lockheed Martin,” said Pi Tau Sigma Drexel Chapter president, Paul Briede.

The conference also held a career/graduate school fair, and out of the 50 universities attending the conference, Drexel’s MEM Department was one of only four who presented at the fair. The group was also able to reconnect with PTS National President, Dr. Mun Choi, former Drexel MEM Department Head and current Dean of the College of Engineering of the University of Connecticut.
