Live bacteria being used as mechanical actuators in fluid systems is the topic of two new articles that have recently been published about MEM Assistant Professor Dr. MinJun Kim’s research.
His paper on an entirely new class of microfluidic pumping systems, “Self-organizing Bacteria Powered Microfluidic Pump,” has been published in Small http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/journal/107640323/toc .
The paper has been introduced as a news feature on Nanowerk Spotlight section: “Live bacteria as mechanical actuators in fluid systems”. http://www.nanowerk.com/spotlight/spotid=30x.php
