Dr. Sun has been recognized as a world-renown authority in the emerging field of biomanufacturing. He has published over 200 technical articles and has given over 90 invited national and international presentations. Dr. Sun has 10 patents issued and pending. He is currently serving as the Chair of the Biomanufacturing Technical Committee in Manufacturing Engineering Division, American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), the Section Editor for Tissue Engineering for Journal of American Society for Artificial Internal Organs (ASAIO), and a member of Editorial Board for Journal of Recent Patents in Engineering, Journal of Computer-Aided Design & Application (CAD&A), and International Journal of Service Operations & Informatics (IJSOI). He has recently been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief for Biomanufacturing which is an international journal published by the Institute of Physics (IOP), Bristol, UK, a world leading publishing organization for integrated sciences. Dr. Sun is currently leading the Biomanufacturing Laboratory which he was instrumental in developing in the Bossone Research Building. He is also supporting a large research team and several of his students are joining the academic ranks.
