Dr. Alisa Morss Clyne, P.C. Chou Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, was recently awarded a $25,000 grant for a pilot project in Nanotoxicology from the Nanotechnology Institute and the Penn Medicine Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology as a co-PI with Vladimir Muzykantov of UPenn. The new collaborative effort on nanoparticle bio-toxicity seeks to develop clinical therapies, in particular targeting vascular diseases such as restenosis following angioplasty and tumor blood vessel regression.
