Drexel University's College of Engineering hosted the Senior Design Competition on June 1, 2005.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering & Mechanics was well represented with five teams receiving Honorable Mentions in both Senior and Freshmen Design as well.
Both freshmen and seniors are required to complete the course in which they determine an engineering problem, and then develop a solution to the problem utilizing concepts learned throughout their Engineering education.

Dr. Baki Farouk's team (MEM) received Honorable Mention for Senior Design Project 2004-2005
"Design of a Supercritical CO2 Reactor" with Ryan Blodgett, Ani Kechian, Leroy Sell, and Christopher Singleton.
Dr. Brad Layton, MEM, served as the Advisor for Outstanding Freshman Design Project 2004-2005,
"Design of a Portable Educational Atomic Force Microscope" with Rahul Singh, Vinay Gadia, Sristi Roy, Nischitha Venkatesh, Sagar Lunagaria, and Rohan Patel.
Dr. Alexander Dolgopolsky's team (MEM) received Honorable Mention for Freshmen Design Project 2004-2005
"An Artificial Vision System for the Blind" with Japkeerat Bindra, Stephen Massa, Charles Mccarthy, Joseph Neal, and Brian Piccione.
MEM Department Head, Dr. Mun Choi's team received Honorable Mention for Freshmen Design Project 2004-2005
"Formula SAE Gear Indicator System" with Sam Acacia, Richard Castle, Harold Griest, Steven Seelman, and Jason Vala.
Dr. Paul Oh's team (MEM) received Honorable Mention for Freshmen Design Project 2004-2005
"Mechanical Advancement to Elevator Systems" with Team Members: Corey Dawson, Andrey Kolyada, Mudassar Malik, Christina Shank, and Sara Tubbs.
