Charles Avila, a fifth year MEM Senior, was selected to receive the 2006 National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship. Avila plans on attending Stanford University for his graduate studies beginning in the fall of 2006.
The NDSEG Fellowship is sponsored and funded by the Department of Defense (DoD). As a means of increasing the number of U.S. citizens and nationals trained in science and engineering disciplines of military importance, the Department of Defense (DoD) will offer these fellowships to individuals who have demonstrated ability and special aptitude for advanced training in science and engineering.
The fellowship covers tuition and fees for three years at any accredited U.S. college or university that provides advanced degrees in science and engineering in addition to a yearly stipend.
