Drexel University Hosts First Philly ASME Young Engineer's Forum (YEF)

On Saturday April 2, 2005, Drexel University hosted the first Philadelphia area Young Engineer's Forum (YEF). The event took place in the Bossone Research Center from 9am-5pm.

The Drexel Undergraduate Student chapter of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and Dr. Paul Oh (MEM) and the Mechanical Engineering & Mechanics Department were responsible for planning and executing the event. The ASME student chapter intends to hold another YEF next year.

The event included sessions on real-world engineering issues, as well as networking opportunities with other students, established engineers and career-planning specialists.

The YEF was started by the ASME in 1992 in order to increase young engineer's awareness of opportunities and trends in the profession, both locally and globally. The program is a one-day event consisting of lectures, panel discussions and networking events.
