Dr. Paul Oh Invited to Demo at 2005 WTEC International Study of Robotics Workshop

MEM assistant professor Dr. Paul Oh was one of very few in the nation to be invited to demonstrate at the 2005 World Technology Evaluation Center (WTEC) Workshop on the International Study of Robotics. The free workshop will be held on September 16, 2005 at the National Science Foundation's (NSF) headquarters' in Arlington, VA.

Dr. Oh will be demonstrating aerial robots designed for near-Earth environments, such as flying caves and tunnels.

The workshop will explore the international aspects of robotics from a panel of experts who have just completed a study of research and development in the world including the U.S., Japan, Korea, and Europe. Chaired by Dr. George Bekey of the University of Southern California, it is anticipated that there will be representatives from various U.S. agencies as well as those from abroad.

The one-day Robotics workshop seeks to discuss issues in: robotic vehicles, space robots, industrial, service, and personal robots, humanoids, robotics in biology and medicine, and networked robots.
