Incoming MEM freshmen Marie LaPosta, Kenny Palmer, Kathleen Rizzo, Bobby Roberson, Nicholas Gomersall, and Kevin Smiley were awarded the ASME Clarke Scholarship of $2,000 each.

The MEM department was selected as the recipient of the Clarke Scholarship by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers for the positive impact the ASME Student Chapter has had on the department. This scholarship program provided $12,000 to incoming freshmen in Mechanical Engineering. The proposal was written by Prof. Paul Oh and Mr. Dan Hanna, President of the ASME Student Organization at Drexel.

The Scholarship was established in honor of Lucy Clarke and Charles Clarke, distinguished engineer and long-time ASME member, through a bequest from their daughter, Lucille Clarke.
